St. John Neumann

These are ministries that seek to further the healing mission of Jesus Christ by supporting the physical, emotional and spiritual wellness of our parish family.



Consolation Ministry

When there is a funeral at the parish, members of this ministry gather at the funeral home and conduct a prayer service. They also participate in the funeral liturgy as greeters, servers and Eucharistic ministers.

Divorced and Separated Support Group

St. John Neumann, Ss. John and Paul and St. Richard parishes jointly sponsor a support group for individuals experiencing the pain of separation or divorce. Meetings follow a 13 week cycle on Monday evenings from 7:00 - 8:45 pm and are hosted by each parish in turn. The current cycle begins on September 12, 2011 at St. Richard Church, 3841 Dickey Road, Gibsonia, PA 15044 in Rooms 5A and 5B of the Social Hall.

Elizabeth Ministry

This is a woman-to-woman ministry supporting women who are dealing with infertility, a difficult pregnancy or miscarriage.

Health & Wellness Ministry

This group seeks to enrich, fulfill and promote health, healing and wellness of the whole person – body, mind and spirit – by educating, serving and caring for each other through all stages of life.

Services Include:

  • Monthly Blood Pressure Screening after Mass
  • CPR, AED (emergency defibrillation) and first aid training
  • Various health, educational programs and seminars
  • Grief and disease support groups
  • Personal fitness and mental well being

Prayer Ministry

This group offers prayers for the joys, sufferings and hopes of the people who request them. The list of prayer intentions is found online at:

Prayer requests can be made by either depositing a card in the small black box in the lobby of the church (there are cards beside the box) or sending an email to sjnprayer@gmail.com

The Marian Ministry

Members of this group make home visits to those unable to attend Mass. To request that a member visit or bring communion, please call the Parish Secretary at Extension 10.

Ministry of Moms Sharing (MOMS)

MOMS is a series of six meetings that focus on the spirituality of motherhood. It offers women a chance to deepen their faith and develop new friendships as they share with others the challenges, rewards, frustrations and mountaintop moments of motherhood.

MOMS II is an ongoing support group for those who have completed MOMS I.

SOLOS

This is an organization of widowers who meet once a month for fellowship and food at local area restaurants. Check the bulletin for dates and times.

St. John Neumann Society

This group provides temporary help in times of need. Volunteers assist parishioners with services such as:

  • Meals
  • Transportation to appointments, church, and grocery shopping
  • Letter writing
  • Companionship

Verland Ministry

St. John Neumann Parish has special celebrations every year at Verland Foundation, which serves persons with severe intellectual and physical disabilities. Additionally, some of the Verland residents come to 9:30 am Mass every other Sunday. Following Mass we share coffee, donuts and juice.
