Adult Faith Enrichment

St. John Neumann

Adult Faith Enrichment invites all adults to hear the good news in light of our life experiences.

God continually reveals an unfathomable love for us, and in the perfect Revelation of Jesus Christ has given us a glimpse of God’s kingdom here and now. As we draw closer to Christ through prayer and study, the events of our lives take on new meaning.

Diocesan Courses

In Fall, Spring and Summer, courses sponsored by the Diocese of Pittsburgh are offered at various locations and times. Courses in the “Pillars” of our faith include Creed, Sacraments and Morality. “Enrichment” courses on many topics are also offered. A schedule is published in the Pittsburgh Catholic and the parish bulletin.

“Pillars” courses are required for catechist certification and continuing education for Catholic School teachers. All courses are also open to any interested adults.

Good Shepherd Formation Courses

This course offers an immersion in the wonder of Christ’s teaching through reflection on parables, the life of Christ and liturgy.

A retreat format in a nourishing environment opens the adult to a new experience of God’s mystery and cosmic plan for all.

Catechists in the Montessori-based “Catechesis of the Good Shepherd” attend this course to attain certification in a given age level, but the course is open to any adult for faith enrichment.

They read and reflect on Sacred Scripture as it affects their lives, share their faith with one another, and prayerfully discern the Lord’s call to act upon the gospel.

Sign up occurs at Mass twice a year.
