St. John Neumann Parish

Advisory Board (GPS)

St. John Neumann

The GPS Advisory Board serves as Guide and Partner in the Spirit for Religious Education and Youth Ministry staff, helping to assure a continuity of sound catechetical programming from baptism through adulthood. Volunteers for the Advisory Board are solicited through bulletin announcements.

Seven groups correspond to developmental stages of life. A representative from each group forms our “Steering Committee,” which meets directly with Religious Education and Youth Ministry staff members throughout the year:

  • Baptism to Preschool ~ Carole Shepard
  • Early Elementary (K-Grade 2) ~ Cathy Vollmer
  • Middle Elementary (Grades 3-6) ~ Tina Johnson
  • Intermediate (Grades 7-9) ~ Ani Nichol
  • High School (Grades 10-12) ~ Amy Pusateri
  • Young Adults ~ Erin Turo
  • Adults ~ Ellen Carlins

Each group meets periodically to:

  • Pray for the children/ adults in the age group they represent
  • Identify information that is important for parish staff to know when planning weekly sessions or special events
  • Make suggestions concerning faith enrichment opportunities for this group
  • Generate ideas for future events
